Wave Editor Review
Application software download free Windows
Designed to be easy for beginner users, Wave Editor does just what it says on the tin. It provides quick and simple editing of audio files, without being a complex application like Audacity or requiring expensive sound editing hardware.
The majority of the program is taken up with a large window showing the waveform of the selected audio file. The top half of the window has a menu bar with various command icons. The bottom of the window displays a cursor display and a level bar. Using these you can choose from several different edit functions such as cut, copy, paste and add noise. It's also possible to apply various effects such as normalization, reverse and insert silence.
This application can also be used to create drum loops, for example by selecting a particular section of the file and then clicking on the Loop Play button. It will then play that part of the file continuously with no pauses at all. This feature can be very useful for those who need a small looping audio track that they can use in a multitrack recording session or to burn to a CD.
One of the most important features of this program is the fact that it is non-destructive. This means that if you make a mistake, you can undo it without losing the original audio file. This is a very valuable feature which not all programs have and it should be standard in every application.
